Sewanee Tomorrow

Giving is Believing

Who gives to Sewanee?

Robert M. Ayres at the Equestrian Center Alumni and students, parents and parents of alumni, foundations, companies, churches and parishes and dioceses. These friends give in many ways, from annual fund contributions to grants for specific purposes to gifts of stock or bequests, purchases of chapel chairs, donations of goods or services.

Without the charitable contributions of donors in the past and present, the cost of a Sewanee education would be nearly double what it is today. Gifts at every level are a part of the financial foundation of the Sewanee Experience:

  • Sewanee Annual Fund gifts add over $3 million each year to financial aid, program development, and infrastructure support
  • Major gifts provide permanent resources through endowments and brick and mortar
  • Restricted gifts, such as grants, provide funds for innovation, for keeping Sewanee responsive to changing times
  • Gift planning through bequests and trusts helps guarantee that Sewanee has a bright and promising future

Giving comes from the heart, and when you give--whether it is an annual gift, major gift, restricted gift, or planned gift--you become a partner in the mission of the University of the South. The Sewanee Experience is simply better when you are involved, and we ask you to give freely, from the heart, with every expectation that we will use your gifts wisely.
