Stronger Truer Dollar Goals Met, Remaining Need

Laying a Solid Foundation with Cornerstone Scholarships

Allan Whitehead, C'78, found a lot of resonance with the idea of Cornerstone Scholarships. His gift is making it possible for one of today's students to attend Sewanee. Whitehead is also reconnecting with a passion he sharpened at Sewanee. His " Theatre on the Edge" is bringing professional theatre to an Orlando-area community. Read more about his story here.

A Pocket-Sized and Gracious Home

For Lessley and Bob Hynson, C’67, cabin life has always been a gateway to the good life. Their generosity to Sewanee makes them great neighbors.

Giving Early and Often

Critch Judd, C'43, is one of Sewanee's record-setting donors with decades of faithful giving. Critch’s long tradition of giving to Sewanee is a model to all alumni, and the sooner one gets started the greater the possibility of being in Critch’s league.

Observing the Night Life

Christine Fisher, C'73, is living her best life in the Second City, volunteering for the Lincoln Park Zoo on a project studying urban wildlife, and enjoying the cultural attractions of a world class city. A new member of the Charlotte Manigault Society, Fisher wanted to honor her Sewanee education and support an institution with lasting value.

Briggs at Chen Hall

Briggs Scholarship Boosted through Generous Campaign Gifts

Dick Briggs, C'56, keeps in shape by wrangling his border collies and playing tennis, which helped him recover quickly from recent knee surgery. He was so successful his orthopedic surgeon promoted him as a model patient. The active lifestyle encouraged Briggs to accelerate his estate commitment to Sewanee, completing it while he is still living and can enjoy getting to know the fruits of his gift.
